Found Families Adoption Session | Northern Virginia Lifestyle Photography
As a family photographer, it’s honestly an honor to capture photos for any family, and not job I take lightly. I know these are the photos that will be passed down to your children and grandchildren or the photos you’ll look at when your little one grows up and leaves home. However it’s an extra special privilege when I am asked to capture family photos for a family who has recently adopted a child, like the Shifflett family. The pressure is on to do these amazing families justice! The Shifflett family reached out to me through Found Families (formerly Red Thread Sessions), an organization that offers free family photos to families who have adopted a child within the past year. You can see another sweet family I worked with through Found Families here.
Susan and Charlie adopted their sweet son Sibin last year and brought him home to northern Virginia just a few months ago. It was amazing to see the special bond these three share, and I especially loved to see how Sibin had bonded so closely with their dog Zeb. His parents explained how Zeb had helped eased the transition for Sibin and the two had become best buddies. I hope I was able to do this family justice and that years from now these photos will bring back joyful memories of this new chapter of their lives.
