Shoot and Share Contest Recap | Ashburn, Virginia Lifestyle Family Photography
Among professional and hobbyist photographers worldwide, there is a massive worldwide contest that takes place each year called Shoot and Share. Each photographer can submit up to 50 images to 25 different categories. 2019 was my second year participating, second year going “all-in” (entering all 50 photos), and I chose to submit a mixture of personal and client photos. The majority of my photos were entered into these categories: Newborn, Babies and Toddlers, Kids, Lifestyle and Documentary, and Family.
This contest is not judged by a panel of professional photographers, but instead anyone and everyone can vote for the winners. It’s always interesting to me to see which of my photos are most successful in this contest compared to which are my personal favorites. Some of my absolute favorites didn’t make it near the top, and a few last-minute submissions made it all the way to the top ten percent! This year, over half a million photos were entered, and here my results. I’m only sharing the ones that placed, but if you’re curious you can see all of my photos from this year and last.
Oh, and please excuse the screenshots; it’s the only way I could get the photos and badges together.
